Thanks Michelle and Indie Fixx.

Just about to start my (much needed) holiday - but I looked one... last ... time at my favorites and found that Michelle of Cicada Studio - has posted a comprehensive overview of ornaments as a guest blogger on IndiFixx.

I am lucky to have been included - as all of the others are so lovely!

Thanks very much! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone.

(The photo is a shot of some especially nice grocery flowers I picked up this week- just to brighten things up!)

New Kitchen.

I have not posted many photos of the new house since we have moved in. I really want to post shots - but I have been too busy to take the time to even take any photos. This post is mainly for my mom and sister in Nashville - who have been asking me to show the new kitchen - with the new window. I have one photo - here which shows the new window and the wonderful cabinets below.

I really love it! The ceiling is still '"in work" and the dishwasher panel is not in yet - and the bamboo floors are still in the barn - but it doesn't matter. Cooking here is a pleasure - I feel like I'm outside with the wonderful views.

I have added the old kitchen - taken in the late 50's to show the difference. We have really opened up the back wall - and moved the oven and refrigerator to a wall location - so the window would not be blocked. I will continue to add photos as we continue to progress.

"491 Crestmont Lane"

This post is especially for Erin - who has been very patient waiting for this lovely portrait to be finished.
I was originally calling this house "The House with the New Baby", as in every photo there was an indication of little one(s). I added the push cart as a reminder to them of these days. Those babies - they get big - and it happens gradually so it seems like nothing has changed. Then you look at those old photos and - wow - you remember.

So in my mind it is still "The House with the New Baby" - but officially the title has changed. I hope they love the set!

"Antique" Ornaments.

Something new to the shop- and I had to post about it.

I just had so much fun getting these ready for sale. They make me smile for two reasons - the first being that they really reminding me of my grandmother.

When she died I was given her collection of beautiful antique ornaments. Some even from her childhood in Ireland - so I had to immortalize them in these.

And secondly - just because they are a bit tongue in cheek and fun.

I am always afraid of breaking my true glass lovelies - so here they are - unbreakable!!

Well.... don't try.

Enjoy!!

Little Gifts!

Just wanted to post about my new Christmas items. I will have more as the week progresses - can't get it all done at the same time around here.

Today was a bit rainy to take photos - but I was actually happy with their color etc.

So here's the first of the ornaments - Tractor Set of 2 - all packaged up properly - imagine that!

Come back again I will have a couple more cuties to put up later this week in my shop.

Oh, and I have a new Holiday Tea Towel - I forgot to post about it last week.

Enjoy!

House on the Hill

I haven't received the "official" title for this pretty house - yet. I've been calling it House on the Hill just as I name all of the houses before I know the true address. My hands have been a little cramped lately - with all of the carving - but I have been so happy with all of the finished pieces. ( the third is in-process and will be printed this week.)

This will be a wonderful surprise present ( as have been most of the Custom Portraits I have done).
So - a view for you of the 2nd homey house for tonight. I hope the bad light does not take away too much. Again - I will photo in better daylight tomorrow.

Thanks so much Ali !!

2153 North Alberta

I'v been busy lately with some lovely House Portraits! Here is a view of the first of two I'm posing tonight. You know - the photos don't do them justice. The colors don't show well with flash and overhead lights. I should have taken the pictures today - with the sun... but the day just went too fast.

I think I will take some more pics tomorrow before I send them off. I hope they are well received!
Thanks so much Amanda!!

Go Phillies.

We had an exciting time this past week. The Phillies won - which is a great thing for my hubby. I'm not the most faithful of fans as I didn't grow up in Philadelphia. But I'm very happy for all of the people in my life who feel relieved / elated by the big win.

I had a wonderful gift from Philly last week too. This copy of Philadelphia Home came on Friday - featuring my custom House Print Tea Towels. The lovely editor Emily contacted me after seeing my towels on the front page at Etsy. I feel a little star struck to be on the same page as Ligne Roset - as well as the other fab. local designers.

So here's to Philadelphia - where I met my husband in college, best friends, and have migrated back to after many years.

Go Phillies!
